Tired of looking for a good phone case that blocks radiation"Radiation" in the context of Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) refers to the process by which energy is emitted and transmitted through space or a material medium in the form of electromagnetic... More from your iPhone? Well, your search ends here. We recently partnered with SafeSleeve to bring you what we believe is the best EMF protection phone case in the EMF protection market.
But why would you want an EMF protection cell phone case in the first place?
Let’s find out.
What is EMF?
If you are new to the topic of EMF, here is a quick summary:
EMF stands for electromagnetic fields, and it’s a type of invisible energy"Energy" is a fundamental concept in physics, often described as the ability to do work or cause change. In everyday terms, it's what is needed to move things, heat them... More that’s all around us.
This energy comes in different forms. Some are natural, like UV (ultraviolet) rays from the sun and cosmic rays from outer space. Others are human-made, like the microwaves we use to heat food and the radiofrequency waves that cell phones and WiFi routers emit.

Right now, we are surrounded by a mixture of natural and human-made EMFs. In fact, the iPhone that you hold in your hand now is a significant EMF source.
Why Do iPhone Users Need EMF Protection?
There are more than 1.46 billion active iPhone users worldwide. That is more people than the population of Europe and North America combined.
With so many people using iPhones every day, governments and organizations around the world have set SAR limits to ensure that these and other devices are safe for their users.
SAR, or Specific Absorption Rate, is a test that checks how much radiation your body absorbs from a certain device.
It’s measured in W/kg or watt(s) per kilogram, and it shows us how much radiation is absorbed by a specific amount of body tissue.
Note that some countries use 1 gram of body tissue for measurement, and some use 10 grams. It’s just a different mathematical formula.
And different countries have different limits.
Here, have a look.
Region/Country | SAR Limit (W/kg) | Basis of Limit |
United States | 1.6 | Over 1 gram of tissue (Head and Body) |
European Union | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head and Body) |
Canada | 1.6 | Over 1 gram of tissue (Head and Body) |
Australia | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head) |
India | 1.6 | Over 1 gram of tissue (Head and Body) |
Japan | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head) |
South Korea | 1.6 | Over 1 gram of tissue (Head and Body) |
China | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head) |
Russia | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head and Body) |
New Zealand | 2 | Over 10 grams of tissue (Head) |
Now let’s see if iPhones comply with these regulations.

And The Verdict Is…
Every iPhone from model 11 to 15 follows the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) guidelines set by different countries. This is enough for the masses to believe that iPhones are totally safe.
But unfortunately, this is not the end of the story.
The first issue is that cell phone companies can do the SAR test on their own devices. This ability to self-test has led to problems like the PhoneGate scandal in the past.
You can learn more about this in my post “What is SAR and How is Cell Phone Radiation (Not) Regulated?”
But even if we manage to prevent such scandals, the more critical issue remains: many in the scientific community don’t agree with the current SAR limits.
They suggest these limits aren’t good enough to protect us.
Let’s check out our Health Effects App for more details.
The SYB Health Effects App
The SYB Health Effects app helps translate complex EMF meter readings into something normal people like you and I can easily understand.
Using this app is quite simple. Select the unit that your EMF meter is using, enter the reading your meter gives you, and voila, it shows up with a list of research studies that show potential health effects in relation to the specific level of EMF exposure you’ve measured.
This feature enables you to directly correlate EMF levels with scientific research, providing a clearer understanding of potential risks.
The app’s SAR feature is particularly helpful. It helps you understand the risks associated with the amount of radiation your body is absorbing from your phone.
Let’s have a look at what your iPhone’s SAR value really means for your health.
What The Health Effects App Says About Latest iPhone Models
iPhone 15 Pro has a SAR value of 1.14 W/kg (Measured over 1 gram of head tissue). Let’s enter this value on the SYB Health Effects App.
The search came back with 429 scientific studies showing health issues at or below 1.14 W/kg.
Now let’s try to do one for the iPhone SE (3rd gen). It has a SAR value of 1.20 W/kg. Let’s enter this value on the Health Effects App.
The search came back with 450 scientific studies showing health issues at or below 1.20 W/kg.
The Health Effects app is free to use, so give it a try.
So, as you can see, even if your iPhone follows the set guidelines, it doesn’t mean it’s completely safe.
And this is not some personal opinion – it’s the findings of the scientific community.
EMF Protection Phone Case Can Protect You from This
If you have an EMF protection case on your phone – and you use it properly – it will deflect the EMF away from your body.
This means you will absorb less EMF, significantly reducing your risk of developing EMF-induced health problems.
But exactly how does a cell phone case work in protecting your body from EMF?
The Science Behind EMF Radiation Protection

Factors to Consider When Buying an EMF Protection Phone Case
When buying an EMF protection phone case, consider the following key factors:
Effective, Not Absolute: Look for cases that reduce EMF exposure without completely blocking signals, as total EMF blocking would prevent your phone from functioning properly.
Minimal Interference: Choose a case that shields you from EMF without affecting your phone’s network connection or battery life.
Aesthetic Appeal: Select a style that suits your daily use.
Home Testing: Ensure the case can be tested at home using an EMF meter.
Laboratory Testing: Confirm the case has a laboratory test report to validate its effectiveness.
